This is my first attempt using Adobe Illustrator for the first time for this assignment on Love.
New to Adobe Illustrator, so was unable to use it freely. Was also abit lazy so I thought of using LIVE Paint and...this was the outcome. Furthermore, My computer kept hanging, was abit frustrated...

Assignment 1: Me, Myself and I

This is my first attempt using Adobe Illustrator for the first time for this assignment on Hate.
This is trying to use Adobe Illustrator on HATE but as I was not sure how to use it, it turned out to be rather funny and I could not change colour to make the words outstanding. The shape of the bread mould look funny too. Therefore, I decided to make some changes.

These are revised sketches of the previous sketches for HATE on this assignment. I decided to act on the ideas given to make the bread unappealing to people to portray the idea of HATE by making the bread mouldy.
However, the bread still turn out to be rather cute...

These are the new chosen rough sketches for LOVE on this assignment.
This design is design in a way that somehow has a rhythm specail made for it - up, down, up down...but somehow feedback was that it makes reading abit difficult...it was unable to allow people to visualize it immediately...but the design is interesting. =) I decided to try something different for this, I drew it in away that the words stick together to form a chain but one problem that was pointed out was that it is difficult to read and understand straightaway...so, I had to redraw the sketches. =)

These are my first two chosen rough sketches on HATE for this assignment. I chose this design particularly because I like it the best...feedback is that is it too pretty and cute to signify HATE.
This is a simple modification of the design above...and I tend to like this better...but feedback is that it is also too pretty and cute...people mistook it for the sign outside the bakery shop...haha...and there were suggestions to make the bread mouldy to show the HATE for it...which you will get to see in the following posts. =)

These are my first two chosen rough sketches on LOVE in this assignment. I chose this particular design because I fancy the design...haha...and its simple and easy to communicate to others...that's waht I thought...but people find it difficult to read my name and find that the colour balck does not really portray the sense of LOVE for music.
The only difference between this sketch and the above sketch is basically the colour used...this is more colourful, which makes people happy but many did not really fancy this as they reflected that it is very difficult to make out my name...so I decided to change my choice of design.

These are the thumbnail deigns of the section for HATE - Haha...It maybe rather funny for people not to like bread...but seriously, I happen not to fancy bread at all...haha...had rather bad experiences with bread...so just don't like them. The first design was done when I still wasn't very sure what to choose to draw for the section HATE...cos I really could not think of anything to hate...I dun hate anything but just dun like...Bread is one of the things I dun like...and the idea of drawing bread came like a sudden gust of wind that pop up in my mind so I decided to try drawing it...haha...but the effect turn out to be rather cute =)

The second design came about through the idea of mushrooms...and it does look like mushroom, isn't it?...but it was rather difficult to portray bread and "hatred" for bread...kind of cute too =)

The third design is something that I quite fancy...idea was...of course from the loaf of bread my mum likes to buy...haha...kind of cute too, but it is the one that looks most like bread to me...haha =)

The fourth design was somewhat an idea that dawned on me as I was thinking of the different types of bread we often sees...I was thinking of the hotdog bun sold in IKEA haha...happened to had it sometime not so long ago...was having a craving for it at that period of time...haha...seemslike I dun really hate bread afterall...but, the effect turned out to remind me of the POSBank...haha =)

These are the thumbnail designs for LOVE...which is about my love for Music. The first design is rather plain but I was thinking of using basically only musical notes (eg. the treble clef, bass clef, quartet) for my design.

The second design is something that I really like...its about dancing to the rhythm to the beat of music...it was an idea that struck me while I was listening to my favourite music...and it was also influenced by the idea given in the lecture notes =)

The third design was rather well-liked by many - a poll done by myself...haha...I was in band and chinese orchestra during my secondary and JC school days...and it happened that I rather missed my instrument...bassoon...so it struck me to use the shape of musical instruments to shape my name =)

The fourth design was designed when I was rather broke with ideas...and I decided that I want something simple...cos it took me hours to get the third design done...haha...was abit tired so I decided to do something simple...but the turnout effect was rather good...that's what I thought...haha =)
